Due to a large amount of stress-caused illnesses these days the question comes up how to prevent them. One technique to reduce stress is called mindfulness. It is a certain kind of awareness towards life with its old origin in Buddhism. Since there is an increase of working women over the past few years, it makes sense that this paper focuses on them. With the online questionnaire as the most promising method I wanted to verify my hypothesis which is: Working women with a higher state of mindfulness have a lower self-perceived burden by stress than working women with a low state of mindfulness. I sent this questionnaire to approx. 70 employed women between the age of 30 and 60. Results: As it can be seen from my results, the higher the state of mindfulness is, the fewer is the self-perceived burden by stress. With this, I can verify my hypothesis despite very few deviations.
